In the heart of Banbury
lies the Coach and Horses public house. No expense has been spared by the
famous local brewer Hook Norton in transforming the Coach from a popular
local drinking spot to a cask ale and dining pub to rival anything in the
area. The tenant, Paul Organ, has years of experience in
producing first class pub food.
“We are proud to serve the kind of food
you’d expect to find in a pub - homemade pies, fresh fish and chips,
handmade organic burgers, local cheese ploughman’s and homecooked ham.”
A
comparable choice is offered at the bar: four hand pulled cask
conditioned ales alongside an interesting range of draught
and bottled continental beers, a good wine list and probably the best
coffee in town.
The interior of the pub
could be considered a modern take on a traditional pub, the zinc bar and
chrome hand pulls sitting comfortably with the stripped oak floor and old
fashioned bench seating. The separate dining area, with its comfortable
seating is perfect for a relaxed lunch or supper, or you could enjoy a
light lunch in the bar area or a summer salad in the pretty courtyard at
the rear - the choice is yours!
We take pride in using
ethical and local suppliers. All our eggs and chicken are free range.
Fresh asparagus and local cheeses are supplied by Wykham Hill farm, fresh
fish is delivered daily from Cornwall and S W Betts ensure that we get
the best quality local meat available.
